Don Hebner wins 100 lap Enduro at Eriez Speedway!
Hammet, PA (September 24, 2011): Aaron Gibbons and Brian Rydbem led the 33 enduro cars tom Spanky Hall’s green flag with Tim Gillette grabbing the immediate lead. With only three laps complete Gillette began lapping the backmarkers with William Van Guilder running second but falling further and further back every lap. By 20 laps into the event Gillette had a substantial lead over Scott Peggin and Andy Sweetland. At 30 laps in it was Sweetland into second with Kevin Covell coming to third as Peggin dropped to fourth. As the cars were coming to the end of lap 40, third running Covell spun from contention in turn three, putting Peggin back to third. Four laps prior to halfway the leader pulled to the infield.
Meanwhile, back in the field, 32rd starting Don Hebner was making his way through the pack, coming to fourth by 40 laps complete and assuming the lead from McCray just past halfway.
At the end of the grind it was Hebner, a three-time winner during the regular season and second in points to his brother Josh, by a lap over McCray in second with Jim Frank third. -

Eriez Speedway ends regular season, champions crowned!

Hammet, PA (September 18, 2011): The final night for points racing was cool but sunny for fans of Eriez Speedway. Point’s championships were decided and the final features were contested. Emerging as the 2011 point’s champions were Dave Hess Jr in the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Models, Kyle Zimmerman in the Bonnell’s Collision Center FASTRAK Late Models, Mike Knight in the Plyler Overhead Door E-Mods, Chris Ottaway in the Dan’s Rt 8 Bar & Grill Limited Late Models, Joey Buccola Jr in the Hunter Truck Sportsmen, Pat McGuire in the Rohrer Trucking Street Stocks, and Josh Hebner in the Kandy’s Dinner Theater Challengers. Competition was so close over the summer that two championship chases changed leaders in the final night and two titles were accomplished without the winners going to Victory Lane all season long! - Read More |
